0:42Now PlayingA tender-hearted surfer gave a bird a second chance at life recently, when he pulled the critter out of the water at Cocoa Beach, Florida, and onto his board.
The heart-warming gesture was caught on camera by Brandon Terronez, who praised the surfer’s “show of compassion” and told Storyful that this was a sign “there are good people out there doing good things”.
In the video, the surfer can be seen paddling towards the bird and pulling it out of the water. He then makes his way to the shore as his feathered friend starts flapping its wings.
Terronez said the bird was injured in some way, and that he “thought for sure it was some sea creature’s dinner for as long as he floated out there but he is getting a second chance at life.”
“Probably some motivational message about never giving up or something,” he said.
