Up to 30 missiles were fired at a target near the Khmeimim air base in Latakia, with footage spreading online of massive explosions near the Russian facility overnight, the Telegraph reported.
The appearance of secondary explosions suggest the strikes hit a weapons or munitions depot, according to the UK outlet.
The attack occurred an hour after an Iranian Qassem Fars Airlines cargo plane, which may have been delivering weapons, landed at the base, the Telegraph said, citing reports in Syrian media.
