Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says Milton's damage not as severe as Helene's 'biblical' levels

1:53Now PlayingFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that tornadoes "very likely" led to deaths in his state, but there has not been any confirmations yet.
"I imagine that there's going to be some confirmations but it's too soon to tell," the governor said.
When asked about a Wall St. analyst's prediction that Milton's damages would exceed $50 billion DeSantis fumed "give me a break."
"How the hell would a Wall St. analyst be able to know? It's been dark all day... give me a break on some of this stuff. They're doing damage assessments now," the gov said.
"Right now, the morning after, if I think back to Hurricane Ian, I don't think you're looking at a similar amount of damage to Ian... the surge did not reach Helene levels."
DeSantis went on to call Helen's damage to the Big Bend area "biblical."
The Florida governor said the state removed all assets from Tropicana Field and referred to the stadium's roof as a "fabric almost."
