0:33Now PlayingA mother captured the terrifying moment her children were stuck upside down on a carnival ride at the Arkansas State Fair on Saturday, October 12.
Allyson Metzger captured this video of her children, ages 8 and 11, hanging upside down while riding the X-Drive. Metzger’s children can be seen in the upper left-hand corner of the video.
Metzger told Storyful it took about 15 minutes for crews to get her kids off the ride.
According to local news outlet KATV – who cited Scooter Korek, an employee of North American Midway Entertainment – a technical fault led to the ride malfunction.
North American Midway Entertainment, according to the news outlet, is “responsible for all the rides and takes the show on the road to fairgoers all over the United States.”
Korek told the outlet he is confident in the safety of the rides, explaining the rides go through multiple levels of inspections.
In a post to Facebook, Metzger posted a photo of a complaint she filed regarding the ride.
