Former President Donald Trump took the stage to Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" after he was introduced by his wife, Melania.

After some niceties, former President Donald Trump began his address with a quick question to the crowd.

"I'd like to begin by asking a very simple question: are you better off now than you were four years ago?" he asked, referencing Ronald Reagan's classic phrase he first used in the final week of the 1980 presidential campaign between he and former President Jimmy Carter.
