Pennsylvania-based defense attorney Tom Dickey said he will "fight" the case on behalf of his client Luigi Mangione -- but refused to say who hired him to represent the accused murderer.

“We’re going to fight this along the rules and with the constitutional protections that my client has,” Dickey said about the fight against extradition to New York -- where Mangione faces murder and other charges for allegedly gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown last week.

Dickey confirmed he was not a court-appointed attorney -- but refused to say who retained him to rep Mangione.

Dickey's office is based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, which is where officials arrested the accused shooter Monday.
