0:23Now PlayingPuddles of green liquid leaking onto some New York subway tracks puzzled onlookers recently, with one person wondering if it had something to do with the hit movie Wicked.
Jade Zaroff, who recorded the footage, told Storyful that she and her friend were “disgusted but also found it hilarious”. She said that both have lived in NYC for about 10 years and that “nothing really comes as a surprise”.
“Is it in honor of Wicked?” Zaroff can be heard wondering in the footage.
The reality, however, was much less colorful: the green substance is simply water dyed green by authorities to help detect leaks in the system. It is not the first time, however, that New Yorkers have reacted to the unusual sight.
