Footage by Joshua Opheim, who was driving with his dog Bubba, shows the Palisades Fire near his car.
“Fire is getting big, time to move. Wind gusts are coming in. Gotta go,” Opheim can be heard saying in the video, before getting back into the car driving off.
The Palisades Fire had burned some 17,000 acres by late Wednesday. It was the biggest of five fires burning in Los Angeles, torching hundreds of buildings.
