0:33Now PlayingA nurse’s aide in Iowa lost her job after she was caught on video in late December appearing to floss her teeth while standing over a patient, reports said. In footage filmed by Joe Bainbridge, who said it was filmed on December 22, the worker can be seen flossing while standing over and next to Bainbridge’s friend, a patient at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. The patient appeared to be trying to get the aide’s attention. The video went viral after it was posted on Facebook on December 25.In a statement shared by local outlet WSAZ, the hospital said they addressed the incident when it was brought to their attention, “immediately suspending and then terminating the employment of the staff member involved.”“This one incident is not a reflection of the dedication of our team or the great care we provide our community each day,” the hospital said, according to reports.
