At least nine people were killed in Kentucky as severe rainstorms and flash flooding overwhelmed areas of Kentucky on Saturday into Sunday, February 16. According to reports, 120 counties experienced catastrophic flooding resulting in evacuations, with many communities underwater as the Bluegrass State braces for continued flooding in the coming days.

President Donald Trump approved federal aid after Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared an emergency for the state.
