He stated, "We're cutting spending in negotiations with people on The Hill, we’re cutting spending with the advice of our IT consultant, Elon Musk.” This statement comes off the heels of a recent White House court filing claiming Musk is not an employee of the Department of Government Efficiency but still has power to oversee the newly formed agency as a senior adviser to the president.
