1:08Now PlayingThe howl of sirens woke up residents in the suburbs of Fort Worth on Tuesday, March 4, as North Texas was hit by severe windstorms and radar indicated a tornado was in the area.
In footage posted to X by Tori Mae Fontana, tornado sirens are heard early on Tuesday morning. Flashing lightning can be seen. Fontana said extreme winds had downed fences in their neighborhood.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued multiple severe thunderstorm warnings, saying wind gusts up to 70 mph and pingpong-ball-sized hail were expected.
