Hegseth praised Healey for heeding the United States’ call for European nations to do their part in supporting Ukraine. Hegseth told the British counterpart, “President Trump is calling on our European allies to take the lead and you have done just that, sir.”
Healey responded: "You challenged Europe to step up. You challenged us to step up on Ukraine, on defense spending, on European security. I say to you that we have, we are and we will further."
