0:43Now PlayingSix protesters were arrested at a Tesla showroom in Manhattan on Saturday, cops said.
Video posted to social media showed one demonstrator being dragged out of the Washington Street showroom by police, and the glass door of the facility appeared to be shattered.
Protesters outside the showroom were chanting: “We need clean air, not another billionaire!” Tesla is run by White House advisor Elon Musk, who owns about 13% of the electric car company.
Five of the protesters were given tickets for trespassing. The sixth was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket for resisting arrest, obstructing government administration and a violation for a local law law, a police spokesman said.
Hundreds of protesters were at the showroom, where Teslas can cost more than $100,000.
