35:21Now PlayingWARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. On Oct. 24, 2023 Deputy Marvin Morales from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office was found unconscious by another deputy in the department's bathroom. Morales was administered multiple doses of Narcan before being transported to the hospital. An investigation found that Morales had purposefully smoked what he believed to be methamphetamine that he had seized from a stop earlier that same day. Tests later revealed that Morales had smoked fentanyl. In an interview with the Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs Bureau, Morales admitted to smoking the narcotics to unalive himself. Captain Vanessa Vaden questioned his assertion in a report, which also recommended he be terminated. On Feb. 2, 2024, Morales resigned from the Sheriff's Office.
