A brutal scene of animal mistreatment unfolded in Rancagua, Chile on March 4.

According to Laura Venegas Catalan, the woman who shot the footage, local residents found a dog buried and tied up in a sack in an apparent attempt by the dog’s owner to get rid of the animal.

Footage from Venegas Catalan shows the dog covered in dust and struggling to walk as police guide it into a vehicle. A photo provided by Venegas Catalan shows the dog partially buried in the ground.

“If you don’t want your puppy, don’t do something like this,” Venegas Catalan said. “I condemn animal abuse one thousand percent.”
