A Florida woman has been arrested after impersonating an ICE agent, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office said, alleging that she kidnapped a woman described by the Miami Herald as her ex-boyfriend’s wife.

The sheriff’s office said 52-year-old Latrance Battle went to the victim’s workplace on April 10, wearing a black shirt labeled “ICE,” carrying a hand-held radio, and showing a business card resembling one from the sheriff’s office. She then told the victim she had to come with her.

Believing Battle was a real immigration officer, the victim, who is in the process of becoming a legal US resident, got in the car willingly, police said.
