1:15Now PlayingAt least eight people were killed and dozens injured in a Russian attack on Kyiv on the morning of Thursday, April 24, according to Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs.
The large-scale missile and drone attack began at around 1 am local time, according to the Kyiv Independent.
Initial reports said that nine people had been killed in the attack; however, Ukraine’s Office of the Attorney General later said only eight deaths had been confirmed.
The attack occurred after US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Ukraine wouldn’t recognize Russian control of Crimea were “very harmful to the peace negotiations with Russia.”
