1:10Now PlayingA huge explosion ripped through Iran’s largest commercial port Saturday, killing at least four people and injuring more than 500 others in a fiery disaster authorities blame on improperly stored chemicals.
The blast erupted at the Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, a critical shipping hub on the Strait of Hormuz, sending a mushroom cloud of black and orange smoke towering over the coastline, Iranian state media reported.
Footage from the scene showed chaos on the ground — stunned workers fleeing collapsed buildings, motorists steering through streets littered with shattered glass, and emergency crews racing to pull survivors from under crumbled roofs.
