Hank Johnson paraphrased a famous Holocaust poem 'First They Came,' by Martin Niemöller in attempt to speak out on President Trump's deportation policies. Johnson began by saying "First, they came for the Latinos outside of the Home Depots trying to get work so that they could feed their families. I didn't say anything about it, because I'm not a Latino at the Home Depot." He eventually ended with the chilling phrase 'Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.'
