“A nighttime pass over the Eastern and Southern United States. I was astounded at the scale of recent thunderstorms,” McClain wrote on X. “Some of these flashes are as large as cities!”
Filmed from orbit, the video captures bursts of lightning stretching for miles across the dark landscape below. A rare, humbling perspective of nature’s raw power.
