One passenger described the terrifying flight, saying "as soon as we touched the ground, the plane was swallowed by a sandstorm. Within seconds, we were airborne again. "The next ten to twelve minutes were some of the scariest of my life. “The plane was being thrown around violently, visibility was gone. “It felt like we were caught inside a cyclone." Meanwhile, the sky turned red in eastern South Australia and western Victoria on Monday, May 26, as red dirt filled the sky.
