Rocks and boulders came tumbling down the mountainside near Bow Glacier Falls in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies on Thursday afternoon, with “multiple hikers” caught in the avalanche, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police [RCMP] said.
“We just started sprinting down,” Niclas Brundell, who witnessed the landslide, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
“I was yelling at my wife, ‘Go, go, go! We need to run as fast as we can,'” he recalled of the terrifying rush to safety with around 20 others.
