2:57Now PlayingA Girl Scout and her troop leader were airlifted from the Los Padres National Forest on June 22, after a canyon fall left the scout with a head injury. The incident happened during an overnight hiking trip when the girl slipped into a remote canyon. A California Highway Patrol helicopter arrived the next morning, rescuing the injured scout and her leader and flying them to Natividad Medical Center for treatment. The remaining six scouts and another leader, uninjured but lost and unfamiliar with the terrain, were also hoisted out safely.
