The heatwave, which lasted 10 days ending July 2, saw temperatures over 104 degrees F in Spain and Wildfires spreading in France. Of the 2,300 deaths, 1,500 were linked directly to climate change, which amplified the severity of the heatwave, according to researchers. In 2022, heatwaves in Europe led to an estimated 61,000 deaths, highlighting the urgent need for better preparedness against extreme heat events
