Kevin Kiley called out Governor Gavin Newsom’s “frivolous” high-speed rail lawsuit. “The governor is now wasting taxpayer dollars suing, so he is able to continue wasting taxpayer dollars on an epic scale on a project that will go down as the single biggest waste of taxpayer dollars in U.S. history.” Kiley said during a meeting of the House. Newsom previously announced the lawsuit against the Trump administration following the cancellation of more than $4 billion in federal funding for high-speed rail project, claiming it was driven by "petty, political retribution.”
