0:35Now PlayingThe driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in the early hours of July 22, according to law enforcement.
The Fayetteville Police Department said it first received a report of a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Morganton Road and Glenford Drive shortly before the collision.
Officers located the vehicle, but before they could initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled and crashed into the church.
Surveillance footage shared by Berean Baptist Church shows the car skidding out of control, with sparks flying as it slams into the building. Two individuals are then seen running from the wreckage.
The church said in a Facebook post that the crash occurred around 2 am.
Both occupants fled on foot, and officers later apprehended the driver, identified as 18-year-old Demear Denning.
