2:49Now PlayingFrench police faced off with 100 migrants on Gravelines beach in northern France, as the migrants ran to a boat in an attempt to cross the English Channel. The police were seen using pepper spray on the migrants, but 70 of those fleeing are estimated to have made it to the boat despite the efforts of the police. According to the BBC, more than 33,500 people have crossed the English Channel in small boats just this year alone.
