Chaotic clashes broke out in Dhaka on Monday after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to death, with police using batons, tear gas and sound grenades on protesters. The violence unfolded near the home of Hasina’s late father, Bangladesh’s founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as demonstrators attempted to reach the site with excavators. Several people, including officers, were injured, according to witnesses and local reports.
