2:49Now PlayingA police spokesperson claimed that at least 80,000 people attended a public execution in Afghanistan’s eastern city of Khost on Dec. 2, which local news reported took place in the city’s central football field. According to the country's supreme court, a man named Mangal was put to death for allegedly murdering a man named Abdul Rahman in a case the court said was examined “very precisely and repeatedly by three courts.”
Police spokesperson Mustaghfir Gorbaz later expanded on the accusations against Mangal on X, alleging that he had “brutally and mysteriously” murdered 13 members of a family, including children, around 10 months ago.
