Video shared on X by NCRI senior official, Ali Safavi, shows dozens of heavily armed trucks patrolling Tehran after being deployed to protect government buildings and state media sites. Bursts of automatic gunfire can be heard echoing through the capital as masked guards drive through the streets and commanders shout orders in Farsi.

Safavi, a senior official with the National Council of Resistance of Iran, says the Iranian regime has increasingly relied on foreign proxy forces to maintain control of the capital.

Although there have been no protests for days, there are fears the death toll could top 16,000 as information emerges over the coming days.
