1:12Now PlayingDramatic video shows a small boat being battered by 20-foot waves off the Oregon coast as the US Coast Guard carried out a high-risk helicopter rescue near the mouth of the Columbia River. Crews responding to a mayday call found the 35-foot vessel Sandpiper taking on water amid extreme winds before a powerful wave flipped the boat, throwing the sailor into the ocean. A rescue swimmer was lowered as waves crashed around them, pulling the man to safety and flying him ashore in stable condition.
