2:28Now PlayingNewly released video shows a terrifying shootout between Washington deputies and a murder suspect that left the suspect, Kody Olsen, dead in 2023 after the officers pursued Olsen down a dead end when he fled a traffic stop – unaware that he was allegedly a member of a white supremist group and murder suspect. One deputy was grazed by a bullet after Olsen opened fire, while the other was saved by his vest, according to the Sheriff's Office. The video follows a two-year investigation that found the officers' actions were justifiable, and The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office praised the deputies’ “courage under fire”.
