2:03Now PlayingPentagon officials have released video of US Marines boarding a container ship suspected of trying to violate the American blockade of Iranian ports on the Strait of Hormuz.
The M/V Blue Star III was intercepted and boarded in the Arabian Sea, according to Tampa, Fla.-based Central Command (CENTCOM), which posted the video on X Tuesday.
“US forces released the vessel after conducting a search and confirming the ship’s voyage would not include an Iranian port call,” CENTCOM said, adding that 39 vessels have been turned back by the siege.
The Blue Star III departed Port Qasim, Pakistan on April 16, according to the ship tracking website Vessel Finder.
