Health officials are racing to determine which Ebola strain is fueling the outbreak, as early testing suggests it may not be the highly lethal Ebola Zaire variant targeted by existing vaccines. The outbreak marks Congo’s 17th Ebola epidemic since 1976 and comes just months after the country declared its previous outbreak over.
