Protesters clashed with federal agents outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey, on May 29 as authorities moved to clear a crowd blocking vehicles from leaving the facility. Video showed agents pushing demonstrators back, removing protesters who attempted to stop departing cars, and detaining two people during a scuffle. The following day, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill urged peaceful demonstrations and called on the Department of Homeland Security to restore visitation access, provide medical care for detainees, and ensure they can review their immigration cases.
