1:06Now PlayingSen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) announced in an X post Friday that the Trump administration has signaled support for a bipartisan bill to sanction Russian oil and gas exports.
"We are very pleased with this significant progress and expect to roll out the legislation very soon," said Graham, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) in a statement.
"As Russia intensifies its slaughter of civilians, it is imperative that the legislative and executive branches work together to create tools to exact a heavy price on those who buy Russian oil and natural gas, fueling the Putin war machine."
The Senate could begin work on the bill as soon as Monday, when it returns from its post 4th of July recess.
