0:13Now PlayingHero cops in Tucson, Arizona, stopped a gunman who opened fire on a downtown crowd, leaving nine people critically wounded in a mass shooting early Sunday.
Shots rang out in the “vibrant” area at East Congress Street at around 2 a.m. — sparking cops on foot patrol to rush in, Tucson Police Department’s Public Information Officer, Frank Magos, said during a press conference Sunday afternoon.
“Those officers immediately began running towards the sound of the gunfire and, in doing so, they came upon the suspect,” Magos told reporters.
“Officers gave that suspect repeated commands before, ultimately, one of those officers discharged his department-issued firearm at the suspect, striking him,” he continued.
