1:27Now PlayingAn armed maniac lit an “incendiary device” Monday morning outside a building in Lower Manhattan Monday morning that houses federal immigration offices and courts, officials and law enforcement sources said. The terrorism task force was investigating the incident, including probing whether it was an anti-ICE attack, according to the sources. The suspect, a man identified by sources as a 43-year-old military veteran from Poughkeepsie, was taken into custody. He was not immediately charged. Officials said he started a blaze with gasoline and fireworks outside of 26 Federal Plaza around 8:30 a.m. and also threatened passersby with airsoft rifles. The man was pulling a cart with “ICE off our streets” scrawled on the side that contained two long firearms, more fireworks and other items, sources said. our civilians were treated for minor injuries, according to FDNY. One person was taken to New York Presbyterian hospital and three others refused medical attention.
