1:45Now PlayingFamilies in Guatemala’s San Juan Alotenango municipality evacuated to shelters Tuesday after the Fuego Volcano entered a more intense eruptive phase, prompting authorities to issue an orange alert. The volcano released ash and pyroclastic flows down its slopes, leading officials to order evacuations in the communities of El Porvenir and Las Lajitas. Volunteer firefighters said about 70 people had been evacuated by early Tuesday as residents sought safety.
