3:51Now PlayingResidents on Hawaii’s Big Island sheltered in place as Hurricane Lala brought heavy rain, powerful winds and dangerous coastal conditions. The Category 1 storm was located about 30 miles southwest of South Point late Saturday morning, with more than 44,000 customers reportedly without power. Officials warned of life-threatening flash flooding, landslides, high surf and storm surge, with rainfall totals potentially reaching 20 inches in parts of the Big Island and Maui.
