A federal court filing this week provided new details about the incident, in which suspect Cole Tomas Allen allegedly fired a shotgun toward a stairway near the ballroom where Trump and other officials were gathered. Prosecutors said an officer fired multiple shots during the chaotic episode, but the filing did not confirm who fired the round that struck the agent, who was reportedly protected by a ballistic vest.
