OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger said the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) stands ready to assist Armenia in the process of electoral reform.

His remark came during his visit to Yerevan where he met with PM Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of the parliament Ara Babloyan and Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan. Thomas Greminger discussed cooperation between OSCE and Armenia as well as touched upon the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

An investigator of Armenia’s Special Investigation Service decided to select a signature bond to not leaving Armenia as the second president Robert Kocharyan’s precautionary measure.

The move was slammed by Kocharyan’s lawyers. During a media conference on Wednesday, his lawyer Aram Orbelyan said the decision was unlawful and they are going to appeal it.

Damages totaling 23.5 billion drams (approx. US$48,714,750) have been caused to the state, and as a result of misuse during the implementation of the North-South Road Corridor construction project in Armenia.

It was found out that the officials who were engaged in the development and implementation of the North-South Road Corridor project, from 2009 to 2018, had included ineffective and unfounded activities in them, and received incomplete documents.

As a result, the Prosecutor General’s Office has launched a criminal case, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee of Armenia for a preliminary investigation.

There are real opportunities in new Armenia for the joint development of Armenian and American businesses, US Ambassador Richard Mills said during the forum on commercial franchising opportunities.

Mills added that they encourage the Armenian government to continue working toward the improvement and development of Armenia’s business climate, and expressed the hope that the government will continue to focus on what kind of a climate it creates for businesses and investment in the country.

U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

According to MFA spokesperson Hikmat Hajiyev, Azerbaijani side submitted a note of protest to the US diplomat in connection with the Armenian-American millionaire Dan Bilzerian’s visit to Artsakh.

According to MFA, the criminal case was opened in this regard, while Azerbaijan hopes that US government will take all necessary measures.
