PASHINYAN TALKS TO BOLTON

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with John Bolton, National Security Advisor to U.S. President.

“We discussed issues referring to regional situation and bilateral relations. We both emphasized the importance of Armenian-U.S. relations for our governments. We agreed to continue the discussions on the future development of our relations”, he wrote on Facebook, adding that the Artsakh issue was not discussed.

ARMENIA TO PURCHASE RUSSIAN RIFLES

Kalashnikov Concern of Russia will supply Armenia new AK-12 assault rifles.

“The deal has been signed,” company CEO Vladimir Dmitriev said. “We are preparing a small batch yet, in which there are about 50 automatic weapons. They [Armenia] will look, test it in practice, and we hope they will continue to buy.”

Dmitriev added that Armenia will become the first foreign country to purchase the AK-12s.

ARMENIA RE-OPENS PROBE

Armenia has re-opened a Panama Papers-related probe into the case of former MP Mihran Poghosyan who also served as Armenia’s Chief Compulsory Enforcement Officer, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) reported.

“Armenia’s Special Investigative Service (SIS) is investigating Mihran Poghosyan, 42, over his interests in three offshore companies, according to correspondence seen by ICIJ,” the article says.

SIS is also investigating possible money laundering.

ARMENIA DISCUSSING NO VISAS FOR CHINA

Armenia's Foreign Ministry is discussing the matter of establishing a visa-free mutual travel regime with China, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said.

“The Chinese side has submitted to us a draft international agreement, the matter of whose signing is being considered comprehensively, and the migration flows, risk handling, and the context of other international treaties are being taken into account,” he said.

CZECH SIDE RECEIVES ARMENIA’S EXTRADITION INQUIRY

The Prosecutor's Office of Prague has received the inquiry of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia on the extradition of Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan.

The Czech law enforcers will have to check the documents to announce if extradition is possible or not, representative of the Prague Prosecutor's Office said.
