The joint session of the National Security Councils of Armenia and Artsakh (was held under the chairmanship of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan in Stepanakert.
The main item on the agenda was the joint evaluations of the current state of affairs in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the outline for coordinated actions.
In his speech Pashinyan said Armenia has been, is, and will remain the number-one guarantor of Artsakh’s security. In Pashinyan’s words, the next key issue is whether the Armenian government accepts as a basis for the conflict negotiation process the three principles and six elements which the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs have proposed. He believes the key objective of the forthcoming negotiation process shall be the clarification of the basic concepts.
Pashinyan noted that, unfortunately, Armenia and Artsakh don’t see adequate actions and statements from the President of Azerbaijan. “In spite of this, I am ready to continue the dialogue with not only the President of Azerbaijan, but also the people of Azerbaijan because I am certain that the people of Azerbaijan are as peace-loving as the peoples of Armenia and Artsakh.”
NATO has taken note of Armenia’s decision on carrying out a humanitarian mission in Syria, NATO’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai said in Yerevan.
He said the Armenian officials explained to him why this being done, and presented political and humanitarian principles.
James Appathurai added that, upon his return, he will present the viewpoint of the Armenian authorities, and make sure this viewpoint is presented to all NATO allies.
Congressmen Adam Schiff and Gus Bilirakis called on their House colleagues on Monday to join them in launching the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

The resolution’s authors are currently asking collecting original cosponsors for the legislation and are expected to introduce their measure on the House floor soon thereafter.
