‘POBEDA’ SUSPENDS ITS FLIGHTS TO YEREVAN
‘Pobeda’ low-cost carrier will suspend flights to Armenia’s Gyumri from the winter season.
The decision to suspend flights is reportedly connected with the systematic underfilling of fuel at the Gyumri airport.
According to the source, ‘Pobeda’ repeatedly appealed to the airport management with a demand to solve the fuel issue, but in vain.
ARMENIA CITIZEN ROBBED FOR $1MN
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has completed its investigation of the criminal case into the theft of $1 million, and criminal charges have been brought against a 54-year-old Swedish and Liberian citizen.
According to the information obtained, reaching prior agreement with two other people—one of whom is also a Liberian national, this Swedish and Liberian citizen secretly stole $1 million belonging to an Armenian citizen, on December 2, 2009.
Combined with the evidence obtained, criminal charges have been brought against this Swedish and Liberian national.
89 US REPRESENTATIVES JOIN ANCA
The US House of Representatives sent a swift and powerful rebuke to the Trump Administration’s efforts to cut US aid for Artsakh de-mining efforts, with 89 Members of Congress – many chairing key House committees – co-signing a letter, led by senior House Foreign Affairs Committee member Brad Sherman and Congressman TJ Cox, defending this life-saving program, the Armenian National Committee of America reported.
According to ANCA’s new tweet, two US Representatives running for President signed the Sherman-Cox letter to save US aid to Artsakh: Gabbard and Ryan.
“We thank Representatives Sherman and Cox for leading this effort on the House side,” said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian.
PAN-ARMENIAN RALLY IN STEPANAKERT
Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Artsakh within the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games hosted by Artsakh.
The pan-Armenian rally for national unity kicked off on Monday in Artsakh capital, Stepanakert, and is being held with the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan.
Today, Stepanakert will host the opening of the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games on 9 pm, which was held in Armenia and Artsakh from August 5 to 17.
According to Chair of the World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games Ishkhan Zakaryan, this year, the Games have gathered more than 5,244 participants from 161 cities of 35 countries.
