COVID-19 UPDATE IN ARMENIA

Armenia has recorded 711 COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 21,717.

The death toll has reached 386.

The total number of tests conducted so far is 100,400.

According to the latest data, 10,797 people have recovered thus far.

In the meantime, My Step faction MPs Kristine Poghosyan and Viktor Yengibaryan have tested positive for COVID-19.

ARMENIA RANKS 11TH

Armenia ranked 11th in the number of COVID-19 cases per one million inhabitants.

According to the latest data, Armenia has already recorded 21,717 cases - that is 7,329 cases per million people. In the meantime, the US ranks 12th with 2,424,492 COVID-19 cases, but it has 7,326 cases per million people.

WHO IN ARMENIA

Health minister Arsen Torosyan met with the World Health Organization representative in Armenia Egor Zaitsev and WHO Europe Regional Director Michel Thieren, who is heading the mission in Armenia.

The WHO mission is in Armenia to explore the country’s strategy for the COVID-19 fight and make proposals.

Michel Thieren shared details of and impressions about his visits to the Nork Infection Clinic Hospital and Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.

The parties expressed willingness to meet again for the exchange of experiences and sum up the results.

VICTORY PARADE

The 75-member military group of Armenian soldiers marched Wednesday at the Victory Parade in Moscow. Colonel of the Armed Forces of Armenia Ashot Hakobyan commanded the parade crew.

Armenian defense minister Davit Tonoyan was also present.

A victory parade is taking place in Moscow on Wednesday in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

PM Nikol Pashinyan could not leave Armenia due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.

ARMENIAN COURT DENIES APPEAL

The Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia denied the appeal filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office over the decision to select arrest as a pre-trial measure against Rafik Hayrapetyan, son of the former president of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan, attorney Amram Makinyan told NEWS.am.

Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son, Rafik Hayrapetyan are charged with causing strong physical pain or strong mental suffering, depriving of liberty unlawfully and self-righteousness. An arrest has been selected as a pre-trial measure against Ruben Hayrapetyan, and a signature to not leave the country has been selected as a pre-trial measure against his son.
