BEIRUT BLAST
Lebanese-Armenian Annette Khachigian, who was battling for her life with the help of doctors at a hospital in Zahle for 24 days, died this morning.
She has become the fifteenth Armenian who died after the blast that took place in Beirut on August 4, Arevelk reported.
Due to the situation caused after the blast, many injured people were transferred to hospitals in distant cities, and one of them was Khachigian, who was over 60.
COVID-19 IN ARMENIA
181 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Armenia Friday, and the total number of cases has reached 43,451.
The death toll has reached 869 cases.
The total number of people who have recovered so far is 37,264, and the number of people currently being treated is 5,052.
A total of 202,253 tests have been performed to date.
DEPUTY MINISTER DISMISSED
Armenia’s deputy minister of environment Vardan Melikyan was relieved of his respective post in accordance with his own letter of resignation. He informed about this on Facebook.
PROTESTS IN YEREVAN
Citizens demanding the resignation of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan started a march in Yerevan on Friday.
They began with a protest in the yard of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport and continued with a march to the yard of the government building.
HOUSES BEING REPAIRED
Nine houses damaged by Azerbaijan shelling are being repaired in Nerkin Karmiraghbyur village of the Tavush province.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has posted the respective videos.
The 7.5km-long Norashen-Movses motorway has been completely repaired; the cost of this project was 392 million drams.
Twelve houses damaged by Azerbaijan shelling are being repaired in Chinari village.
And all streets are being completely repaired in Aygepar village.
