Armenia government has decided to terminate the UNICEF representative’s mandate.
There were reports Monday that Marianne Clark-Hattingh, the Head of UNICEF Armenia Country Office, had spied in favor of Azerbaijan and the UK.
"The shortcomings of the UNICEF representative to Armenia Marianne Clark-Hattingh in the implementation of her mandate and the non-cooperative style of work were problematic for the Armenian side," Armenian MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan noted.
The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia Arman Tatoyan has published new evidence from the speech of the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as a manifestation of Armenophobia.
Aliyev's remarks came during the 7th Congress of ‘New Azerbaijan’ party of the President of Azerbaijan
"This presentation simply begs these questions: who, after all, is speaking in fascism language," the office noted presenting parts of Aliyev's speech.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has completed its investigation of the criminal case it has opened against ex-PM Vazgen Manukyan—the PM candidate of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement—into his calls made during the rallies held at Liberty Square in Yerevan on February 12 and 20.
Manukyan had been charged under the Criminal Code articles on making public calls for the seizure of power, violation of territorial integrity, or forcible overthrow of the constitutional order. Signature bond on not leaving the country had been chosen as a precautionary measure against him.
But on Tuesday, a decision was made to change the charges. Now Manukyan was charged over public calls for changing the constitutional order of Armenia by force.
Former advisors to the President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Hrayr Ghukasyan, Grigor Muradyan, and Vardan Poghosyan have submitted a claim against President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan to the Administrative Court.
The ex-advisors request restoration of their positions and payment of the average salary for the period of forced idleness.
Ghukasyan’s and Muradyan’s claims will be examined on April 8, while Poghosyan’s claim will be examined on April 16.
As of Tuesday morning, 182 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 175,198 in the country.
Also, seven more deaths from COVID-19 were registered, making the respective total 3,232 cases.
The number of people who have recovered is 165,096.
