FRANCE
Armenian acting PM Nikol Pashinyan is paying a visit to France.
Pashinyan was hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace. After the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders made statements to the media.
The two touched upon the Azerbaijani troops' invasion into the Armenian territory.
Macron noted that the Azerbaijani soldiers must leave Armenia’s sovereign territory.
"I call on the parties to return to the positions they stood at as of May 11. We will try to help establish a dialogue," he said.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday also met with representatives of the Armenian community in France at Armenia’s Embassy in Paris.
BORDER SITUATION
The area of Sev Lake of Armenia's Syunik Province has been relatively stable in recent days.
Although the Azerbaijanis continue to remain in their occupied positions and have deployed 4 positions—25-30 servicemen in each—, it is reported from Syunik Province that the enemy does not increase its number, does not undertake other actions.
The only strange thing is that they take turns of duty more often than the set timeframe, Hraparak daily reported.
"By the way, a large number of volunteers—from our side—continue to stay in Syunik; although they have not been mobilized at the moment, they are ready waiting for an instruction at any moment," the newspaper said.
POWS
The judicial farce against the Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) has started Wednesday in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijani media, Armenian POWs Ludvig Mkrtchyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan are “on trial.” Both are veterans of the first Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war in the early 1990s, and absurd charges have been brought against them.
Azerbaijani media report that trials are being prepared against 14 Armenian POWs, and on similar charges
Thus, Azerbaijan brazenly ignores all calls of the international community to immediately release the Armenian captives.
Baku's actions violate the November 9, 2020, trilateral statement’s section on the exchange of all detainees.
OSCE
Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stephane Visconti (France), and Andrew Schoffer (USA) might agree over the possibility of visiting the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia soon. According to a Russian representative to the OSCE Aleksandr Lukashevich, it's very important that the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group manage to reach the region soon and clarify the situation on the spot and talk to the sides on the spot.
COVID-19
As of Wednesday morning, 92 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 222,870 in the country.
Also, one more death from COVID-19 was registered, making the respective total 4,446 cases.
The number of people who have recovered over the past one day is 149, the total respective number so far is 213,578.
